my hands get cold riding in canada in winter. i'd like to get those hand guard things that block the wind in front of each hand. not sure what they are called. any suggestions here guys? thank you.

Hand guards, heated grips, good winter riding gloves or heated gloves, are all good options. Even better when you combine two of them! Winter riding always makes us appreciate the "real" riding season.

I got the barkbusters... S7 fits our stock handlebars... and I use them to keep the WIND OFF... doesn't do much for the heat or the fingertips. but my hands are much better off. The thing about the hippo hands is they require some kind of support under the shell to hold them open...
