It is winter, it snows, did not managed to empty my first gas tank :/ Although riding in cold weather I would not expect MPG to be great
![]() anyways, i'd expect average 43.5 mpg (5.4 l/100km) a good result. Question to Europeans - what is your fuel consumption when riding through town with no speed records in mind ?

I was really suprised, because it has been pretty cold here as well in middle GA and I always let the bike warm up to at least about 125 degrees before taking off.

how are you tracking that Tiago? is that from a GPS or something? because if you're going home after every tank of gas and documenting that in a spreadsheet.....

:Details: Yamaha - FZ8 - Spritmonitor.de Everytime i fill the tank, i keep the receipt of the supply pump, which has the value paid and the amount of litres. ![]() I only take note on the cellphone, the total number of kilometres of the bike ... Later, or on the weekend with the receipts, i put the data on the site Spritmonitor ... ![]() Is the most reliable way to know the consumption. You can choose the type of route (road, highway, City). and the type of driving ... aggressive, calm, etc, so the site can separate, ex: motorway and city consumption. It doesn't cost that much, and is a very accurate and helpful. On the link above, you can see more details from my bike.. It's a free service.. ![]() Regards, Tiago Last edited by tiagovsilva; 01-19-2012 at 10:40 AM. |

pretty cool I guess.
![]() I started out with about 47-49 mpg during the breakin period where I was riding mostly under 65-70 to keep the RPMs down... I've since dropped to about 41-43 mpg as well... which cannot be scoffed at by any means. |

Oh yeah, I assume (made an arse of myself) that the dealership checked the air in the tires when I bought it and they went over the bike. WRONG. About mid tank I decided to check the air because I was going on a longer than usual trip. 28psi in the front and 36psi in the back. I had had the bike for only a few days when this happened and the outside temp was relatively the same as the day I bought it. |
